Abstract

Abstract: this article presents a study on digital knowledge of art and information design from the institutional website Van Gogh Museum. Thus, it fulfills the function of virtual access and also supports the graphical interface of the presentation environment of the Van Gogh artist's collection. As part of a broader interest in virtual art museums, qualitative-descriptive research was carried out to meet the objective of discussing the characteristics of the website's information design project. Therefore, two categories of digital navigation were theoretically grounded and proposed: an aesthetic-intuitive and a logical-cognitive one. And yet elements and aspects under three approaches: aesthetic, playful, and logical. As a result, it was justified that the Van Gogh Museum website information design project is distinct and coherent with the artistic theme, being particularly interesting for its aesthetic and playful nature.
