Abstract

This article aims to identify theories, concepts and methodological basis that support the empirical research of the last five years on social entrepreneurial education in the context of higher education. The integrative review method proposed by Whittemore & Knafl (2005) was used, with a corpus of 24 empirical articles. Twenty-two theories, concepts and methodologies were identified, and categorized into four groups according to their similarity. It is concluded that there is no standardization of theories, concepts and methodologies used as the theoretical foundation of empirical research on social entrepreneurial education. Nevertheless, the findings converge and dialogue with each other, sometimes with the same meaning for different terms.
