Abstract

Resilience has received substantial recognition from academics and practitioners in the last decades, with a notable and rapid increase of publications on the subject. Applying bibliometric techniques and tools, this study allows mapping the most recent academic literature on resilience and analyzes the most substantial contributions to the advancement of studies in the business and management research field. A chronological analysis of the literature from the Web of Science-Social Sciences Citation Index (WoS-SSCI) database – covering the period 2014-2019 – provides new informations and insights not previously reviewed, such as the most influential and articles in recent years. As a result, 1.077 articles were identified, which were published in 273 journals and written by 2.713 authors affiliated to 1.288 institutions from 81 countries. The analysis of the publications on resilience allowed identifying an evolution of the topic over time and provides clues about the opportunities for future research and the gaps in the current state of knowledge on this topic.
